A key part of the Elford Hall Gardens is the allotments that are contained within the original Victorian high garden wall. The wall creates a superb environment for growing fruit and vegetables by reducing exposure to wind and increasing the background temperature. There are currently 15 plots being rented which are of various sizes. Some of the plots are cultivated by groups of friends whilst others are managed by couples or individuals.
Growing your own fruits, vegetables and flowers is so rewarding; Digging around in the soil, listening to the wind blowing in the trees, the fresh air, and exercise is so good for the mind, body, and soul, especially in such a historic setting.
Allotments have water access.
Each plot is allotted an indoor storage cage.
Refreshments are available in the Bothy for a small donation.
Due to the location, our plots are very popular, therefore we have a waiting list. If you are interested in an allotment with us, please get in touch.
